Speedbowl Season Tickets
Provide Major Savings
A major savings is in store for purchasers of the 2001 Waterford Speedbowl Season Ticket. Purchased before Dec. 15, the adult ticket, which covers 26 events, goes for $259 – a savings of over $200-plus at gate prices. A youth ticket purchased before Dec. 15 in $75.
A pair of 150-lap NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series events and a 150-lap NASCAR Busch North Series race are included in the 2001 season ticket package as the Speedbowl begins its second season under the NASCAR banner.
The Featherlite Modifieds will be part of the season-opening Modified Nationals on April 7-8. The ambitious Nationals agenda calls for a $5,000-to-win, 150-lap SK-Modified feature as well. The Speedbowl's Late Model, Sportsmen (formally Street Stocks) and Mini Stocks are scheduled as well as the Northeastern Midget Association. Other divisions are expected to be added.
A very competitive event in 2000 convinced promoter Terry Eames to host two FMS races this year. They return on Saturday night Sept. 1.
The Busch North will go 150 laps on Saturday night, June 30. A large crowd watched Brad Leighton's victory last summer.
The season will run through the tradition-rich, two-day "Finale" on Oct. 13-14 which, in addition to 100 lappers for the SKs and Modifieds, again features the Midgets and includes, among others, the Sportsmen and MiniStock divisions.
Mid-summer’s Pepsi 300, scheduled for Saturday Aug. 4, offers double points, extra distance and additional purse money. SK and Late Models go 100 laps; the Sportsmen and Minis go 50.
"We had over 40 winners in our Saturday night divisions last year," said Eames. "It was the most competitive season in a number of years and that will continue."
The Speedbowl also figured prominently in the NASCAR regional races with Late Model champion Jay Stuart claiming the Exide ShorTrack New England title and SK-Modified king Dennis Gada finishing second in the Weekly Racing rundown.
Following Dec. 15, the adult season ticket climbs to $289 and the youth season ticket will be $85.
